SexGenderBody posted a photo day.

This one to be exact:

I took a look at the Facebook page seen at the bottom, and I love it.

Basically, 16 women at Duke University are taking a class called Women in the Public Sphere. They wanted to fight back against common misconceptions against feminism so they launched a campaign where basically they go around campus, have people write why they need feminism, and put it on Facebook.

Not going to lie, I love this idea.

This would be a cool idea for F.A.C.T to do on our facebook page. I have seen some organizations that post various versions of “This is what a Feminist looks like” (pictured could be men, women, etc), this is a similar idea. It allows students to show themselves and be proud of their own feminism. THIS IS WHAT A FEMINIST ‘BOILER’ LOOKS LIKE.

  • I think this would be a GREAT idea for FACT. Keep me posted if you all do it. I think there should be a social media/viral element to it too. Get it on FB, let the world know how we do things at Purdue! I also love the idea that students of diverse racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual identities as well as various abilities are represented. This campus needs more images of a progressive and inclusive student body, who, I think, get silenced by the mainstream media outlet on this campus: The Exponent.

    Thanks for sharing, Nicole.
